The Ohio Lightning Wrestling Club provides Jr. High and Elementary wrestlers an opportunity to train and compete at many different competitions throughout the entire state of Ohio, as well as several out of state national competitions. Ohio Lightning Wrestling trains at a high level geared toward beginners through experienced wrestlers.
The Ohio Lightning Jr. High Wrestling Club will wrestle a schedule attending several national duals tournaments, national opens, and local wrestling opens and duals. Ohio Lightning will train for and compete in the OAC Jr. High State Tournament Series. The 2009-10 Jr. High Club Schedule is being finalized and will be posted soon.
Elementary wrestlers compete in the Ohio Youth Wrestling League as well as various Youth Dual and Open Tournaments through out the area. The Ohio Youth Wrestling Association is an instructional league intended to teach elementary wrestlers about wrestling and sportsmanship. The OYWA supports 13 sites throughout Northeastern Ohio, and involves approximately 120 teams and 3000 wrestlers. In only our 2nd year as a club Ohio Lightning finished in 7th Place in the team standings at the Ohio Youth State Tournament with a State Champion, State Runner-Up, and two other State Place Winners.
The 2009-10 Ohio Lightning Wrestling Club will begin on Monday October 26th. Practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6:00-8:00 PM in the CVCA Wrestling Room.
